My closet update isn't going to be like that. Sorry for the disappointment, but I have more than 3 shirts and 4 pairs of shoes to fit into a small space.

I'm not going to lie and say my closet was a total disaster before I updated it.  There may be things in my home that are a disorganized mess, but my closet is not one of them. 

My clothes are seasonally coordinated (sweaters, long sleeved, short sleeved, etc.) and then arranged by color. And only white, plastic hangers are allowed. And if they aren't facing the same way (gasp) I don't think I could sleep at night.  Although I knew where everything was placed, it didn't look neat or provide enough space for certain items.

Here was my closet beforehand-an ACTUAL before photo- no cleaning or staging, I promise! Not horrible, but [a lot of] room for improvement.

My main problem proved to be not enough room for shoes or an ideal area to hang my dresses.  I decided to use the Rubbermaid HomeFree Series because it was inexpensive and let me arrange it how I wanted to. 

AFTER

By adding two clothes rods I was able to make one longer so my dresses have a room to hang without getting wrinkled. And my shoes are a bit more organized than being thrown in a pile on the floor.

Installing the organizer was easy and only took a few hours, with the hubby's help of course. It didn't open up as much space as I hoped it would (wishful thinking!) but I am happy with the final product. Maybe one day I will have a walk-in closet...

And if your wondering where Dustin's clothes go, he gets the spare bedroom's closet :)
